Rent-a-Linen - Terms and Conditions of Hire

1. All equipment remains the property of the Owner, Rent-A-Linen, B B Park, Les Landes, Vale, Guernsey, GY3 5JF.

2. During the period the goods are on hire the Hirer shall be solely responsible for the hired goods and shall alone be responsible for insuring the goods from the time of acceptance of goods until return and acceptance of goods back into the possession of the Owner.

3. The Owner shall not be responsible for injury or damage to persons or property howsoever sustained arising from any goods under hire

4. In the case of non-account customers a refundable sum of money is payable in addition to the hire charges and at the Owner’s option and may be used towards any monies due from the Hirer to the Owner. It is only refundable after the deduction of such monies. This charge is made at the Owner’s discretion.

5. Shortages and damage to hired goods will be charged at full replacement value, details of which are available on request and no substitute item will be accepted by Rent-A-Linen. The Owner also reserves the right to also charge the Hirer loss of profit on the lost future hire of the said goods. The Hirer may request in writing the return (and bear the cost thereof) of any damaged goods within 14 days of the Hirer being informed in writing of any such damage. Otherwise the said items will be disposed of.

6. When the goods on hire are collected by or delivered to the Hirer or his representative the Hirer shall inspect the goods and sign the Owner’s collection/delivery note. In the event of shortage or damage the Hirer shall endorse the note accordingly at the time of collection or delivery. If the Hirer fails to perform any of his obligations under this condition any goods will be deemed to have been collected/delivered in a satisfactory condition.

7. Any complaints arising from dissatisfaction with an order must be notified within THREE days in writing. After this point we will be unable to adjust any invoices.

8. Goods must be available for collection at the delivery address the morning after the event, unless otherwise arranged. The goods must be placed in the laundry bags provided. All deliveries and collection including aborted deliveries and collections will be charged for.

9. In the event of an aborted collection the Hirer must make their own arrangements to return the goods to the Owner.

10. Prices quoted are for ONE day’s hire only apart from the day of delivery and collection. Subsequent days will be charged at a daily rate. Please note that the hire charge does not include setting the linen, chair covers etc out, or clearing. This is charged at a further rate – details can be obtained separately.

11. WET TABLE LINEN MUST NOT BE PLACED IN PLASTIC BAGS AS IT MAY BE ATTACKED BY MILDEW AND WILL BE CHARGEABLE AT THE FULL REPLACEMENT COST..

12. TABLE LINEN WHICH HAS BEEN DRAGGED ON THE FLOOR OR PLACED ON EARTHEN GROUND WILL BE CHARGED FOR AT FULL REPLACMENT COSTS.

13. TABLE LINEN ON WHICH CANDLE WAX, DOUBLE SIDED STICKY TAPE, DYE FROM TABLE CONFETTI OR TABLE FAVORS, PEN OR CRAYON MARKS OR GREASE MARKS ARE FOUND WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE COSTS OF ADDITONAL DRY CLEANING OR FULL REPLACMENT COST.

14. THE OWNER MUST BE NOTIFIED IF A CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN IS ALSO AT THE SAME EVENT THAT THE LINEN IS BEING HIRED AT. IT WILL THEN BE AT THE OWNERS DISCRETION WHETHER TO CHARGE A FURTHER COST IN RESPECT OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ADDITIONAL CLEANING.

15. INDOOR SPARKLERS MUST NOT BE USED AT A FUNCTION WHERE LINEN HAS BEEN HIRED, UNLESS THE SPARKLERS ARE USED OUTSIDE OF THE FUNCTION ROOM.

16. IF ANY LINEN HAS BURN OR SCORCH MARKS ON IT, FULL REPLACMENT COST WILL BE CHARGED.

17. A 40% deposit is required to confirm the booking (please note that this is non-refundable), this must be paid within 21 days of the letter of quotation sent to the Hirer. The remaining 60% must be paid within 14 days before the date of the event.

18. Cancellations will be charged at 25% of the hire rate. Cancellations within 48 hours of delivery/collection will be charged at the full hire rate. Similarly, cancelled goods, which are being/have been made specifically for the hirer (this will be confirmed to the hirer at the time of the initial enquiry), will be charged at the full rate of hire.

19. All other invoices must be paid within 7 days of the date of the invoice.
